Chief and Council

The ’Wuìk̓inux̌v Nation's Chief and Council are elected by Nation members to serve the community—the people who put them there. Their work spans health, education, social development, and Nation operations. Navigating the needs of a growing community is at the heart of their role, and our leadership carries that responsibility with the Nation's trust and guidance behind them.

Economic Entities

Our economic entities work alongside our leadership to advance self-determination and economic empowerment for our people.

  • Wuikinuxv Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO): As the economic development arm of the Nation, WEDCO is governed by a Board of Directors. They build and manage opportunities that support community well-being—from fisheries to new business ventures. Its work is grounded in our relationship with the lands and waters, directed toward creating lasting benefits for ’Wuìk̓inux̌v people today and for future generations.
  • Kvamua Forestry Services Limited: Operating as a subsidiary of WEDCO, Kvamua is the Nation's forestry company operating within our territory in the Great Bear Rainforest. Kvamua manages forest licences and operations that create employment and training opportunities for community members. They operate strictly within the ecosystem-based management framework, ensuring that resource development always reflects ’Wuìk̓inux̌v values.
